Description
Once upon a time, deep down in the sparkly blue ocean, there lived a little mermaid named Sealy.
Sealy had the most beautiful turquoise tail that shimmered like jewels, and long wavy hair the color of sea foam. She loved to twirl and play hide-and-seek with the colorful fish.
Here is Sealy swimming happily through the water:
One sunny morning, Sealy was chasing a cheeky little crab when — oh no! — she swam right into something scary!
It was an old fishing net, tangled and twisty like a giant spider web. The net wrapped around her tail and arms. She pulled and wiggled, but she couldn't get free.
Sealy felt very frightened and her eyes filled with big sparkly tears.
"Help!" she called softly. "Help, please!"
Here is how Sealy looked when she was stuck (but don't worry — she's going to be okay!):
Just then, a strong, kind sea man swam by. His name was Tide. He had a shiny green tail, friendly eyes, and a big smile. Tide was very good at exploring and helping his ocean friends.
Tide heard Sealy's tiny voice and zoomed over super fast!
"Don't worry, little mermaid!" Tide said gently. "I'll get you out."
Tide carefully pulled and nibbled at the net with his strong hands. He worked slowly so he wouldn't hurt Sealy. Bit by bit, the naughty net came loose.
Finally — pop! — Sealy was free!
She gave her tail a happy wiggle and spun around in circles.
"Thank you, thank you!" she cried. "You saved me!"
Tide smiled. "My name is Tide. What's yours?"
"I'm Sealy!" she giggled. "Want to see my favorite coral castle?"
Tide nodded. "I'd love to!"
And so they swam off together, side by side.
They played tag with the dolphins, shared yummy sea berries, and told each other funny stories about silly jellyfish.
From that day on, Sealy and Tide became the very best of friends. They promised to always look out for each other and have many more ocean adventures together.
Here they are, happy friends forever, swimming and laughing in their beautiful sea home:
And whenever Sealy saw an old net, she would point and say,
"Look, Tide! Let's clean that up so no one else gets stuck!"
Because that's what good friends do — they help each other and keep the ocean safe and happy.
