Our first trip to Sheffield introduced us to much more than we'd bargained for. As well as highlighting some of bassline's finest last week, it opened our eyes to a different, yet closely related gang of 140BPM admirers. SCUMFAM — a grime unit consisting of AK, Tempt, KDot, Tez Kidd, Kannan, Milks, Kuta and Mass — have been together since 2012.

Although not household names just yet, they're a talented team with bags of experience and accomplishments to boot. Their voices can be found all over the right channels including seminal grime outlet, Lord Of The Mics. We caught up with the Steel City squad for a quick dash, five-minute freestyle — Sheffield's clearly got a lot to offer.
