Scott Kollodge - Another Strikeout

No one around, fear in the air.
Long, dark black hair with no order or reason,
Dark pits leading to curious eyes.
Digging into brown, tightly packed dirt,
Important eyes burning into my back,
Gripping the bat tightly.
Wide eyes, pupils bouncing around
Growing hatred, boxed in tightly,
Burned by the cold.
Darkness invading, fear intruding
the nostrils, crowded noise.
Malice intent waiting to
Rise, deep pit of the mind.
Darkness in personality, sounds of truth.
White and red seamlessly spinning
Together, advancing, then dropping.
Heart drops to the knees,
Can’t breathe, confused in disbelief.
