I wish I were like you
All cool and streamlined
But
I am not
Mostly rough and ragged

Your ways and my ways
Are not even close
Yet we share so much
While not connected
At the hip

Sometimes when
I stand under
The orangish
late afternoon sky
I see what could be

How I want to take
You in a thousand ways
And
Feel the warmth of
Your breath against my skin

But all I feel is
Cold wind blowing
You away
