Description

The empty vase, full of life,
Sits eagerly on the table
Made of glass.

On a shelf in a young girls room
Sits the once empty shelf
Sprouting daffodils in their prime.

In a hallway closet lays the lonely, empty vase,
Waiting for the day
It will be put back on display

On a counter in the kitchen
Stands the now half-empty vase.
Filled with water it is now half full.

The empty vase gets knocked over,
Down and out, the empty vase
Spills its nothingness onto the floor

The empty vase, longing to be filled,
Waits patently in the sink
For someone to turn on the faucet

The empty vase, full of love
Denies the fact that at this moment
It is just an empty vase

In a land where everyone is an empty vase
It is the human’s job
To hold all the flowers

Even an empty vase
Is fully capable
Of holding its own weight
