School Bus Accident

The bus was carrying 10 Louisa-Muscatine Community School District students.

According to an initial report from the Louisa County Sheriff's Office, the driver lost control of the bus, which then left the road and rolled over.Rickey L. Hines, 58, of rural Columbus Junction was the driver, according to the sheriff's office.

Louisa-Muscatine Superintendent Mike Van Sickle said there were 10 students on the bus at the time of the accident, including both elementary and secondary students. Eight of the 10 students were taken via ambulance to Trinity Hospital in Muscatine for non-life threatening injuries and two were transported by a parent, according to reports from the sheriff's office and Van Sickle.
