Scarlet ..... - i know why you hate me

I have built up false walls that keeps everyone at a distance
you hate me that
yet I see you have done the same
the only difference
is I choose to blend into the background
or at least I once did
you choose to stick out
but heads with all you encounter
i realize now
your hatred for me
is for yourself
you hate what you have become
and yet you left it to me to see that
you left me only a chance
that i could learn from your mistakes
and i have
for i will not let myself grow up
just to hate myself
and what i become
i will grow up to be me
just plain old me
i will need no walls
to hide behind
