Scarlet ..... - heart strings

heart strings
hold our heart safe
within our chest
as we grow the people around
either strengthen our strings
or break them
those around me broke mine
I fear for what happens when my last string breaks
what will happen to my heart
where will it falls to
when it falls will it break
will the fall damage is beyond repair
or will it simply break into two
or will it shatter to pieces
slowly throughout my life
those around me
have used their sharp scissors to slice my heart strings
as the years went on
the support for my heart became weak
I was left with only one left
and thanks to those I once thought I could trust
it has now been cut in two
they have done so much damage with out lifting a finger
they have now broken me beyond repair
for as I stood there
in front of you
as you told me all that I never wanted you to hear
I felt those invisible scissors
snip that last string
then it happened
I felt it
my heart fell
battered and broke
it bounced from side to side
forever falling within me
searching for something to hold it
too bad that something doesn’t exist
