Come with the rain
And moist my eyes
Gone dry
From one hundred years of
Summer,
Buds wait to blossom
Rheumy,
Leaves brittle
Past green youth,
Knee-deep cracks
Close in on the roots,
Come with the rain
And drench my world,
My being,
Fill me
And let me feel life within,
For no rain is sustaining
Without your feel.
