I stand at the bottom
Of a twelve-thousand foot mountain
That has been waiting to be climbed

I stand at the bottom

That holds my dreams at the top

I stand at the bottom
Of a twelve-thousand foot mountain
That I am ready to climb

I have waited
so many years
For this day to come

To climb this mountain
Without any regrets
Or a trace of sorrow

I climb this mountain
For the first time in my life
To get away from all the pain

My ankles burn
my hands hurt
But I shall make it to the top

I stand at the top
Of that twelve-thousand foot mountain
That is my life

I have conquered
What I have been trying to conquer all my life.
