When life is very hard on us
We miss the joy we had—
We rarely know when times are good
Until they're really bad.

It's golden flames we miss the most
As life becomes a maze—
Glorious people who loved us
On warm and sunny days.

Free from pain and all regrets
With minds that are truly clear—
What would loving people want for us
Now that they're not here?

We know the answers deep inside
Though grief holds us in a spell—
They would want us to smile again
And they would wish us well.
