Remember the days when we were young
Seeing the world through innocent eyes
And gazing up at the stars in undying wonder
When everything was simple and good.

Remember those days not so long ago
Our eyes were no longer innocent and the stars no longer captivated us
Wanting nothing more than to be strong and be the best of the best
When we just wanted to be free and find out who we really were.

Remember yesterday when you left
When being best of the best wasn’t enough
And all you cared about was obtaining power
When my love wasn’t enough.

Remember today when you came back and it was all too late
All have gone-moved on to bigger and better things
Putting selfish and petty illusions behind them
When you forgot the real reason you left.

Remember the day you came back and I was gone
Only my name still existing-carved upon my tombstone
When you finally realized what you’d lost
Remember when you loved me?
