the child's mind wanders
Always asking questions
of her mother and father
Never having heard
the words she's wanted to hear
Nothing to keep her warm
she shivers in fear
Lacking all closeness
and never any intimacy
Eager to be loved
Eager to be hugged
she cries in desire...
To Be Someone's Child.
