Sara Stowell - Africa
0 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
Where aches an acre's trail of dripping sand;
Have sorrowed plains forgot their sorrow's dust -
The fine remains of loss that line this land?
My Serengeti hourglass - once and now -
Espied the peace I felt, yet spills its change
And buries all I built that sands allow
An Eden-dweller fated to estrange.
The eager flight's impermanent incline
Is ended not by height, but choice to soar;
We rise and fall by wings upon our spine,
Till days of wonder dare to dawn no more.
Will aught now grow in Africa as strong
As that to which I long to e'er belong?
