I lay here at night
wanting to feel
your strong arms around me
holding me so close
wanting it so bad
but knowing it'll never
happen again,
the wanting of something
that will never be
is so hard to bare
I felt so safe
with you by my side
I slept so good
but since we've been apart
it hasn't ever been the same
I still wake up,
thinking you will pull me tighter
kiss my forehead and whisper, you love me
just like it used to be
and all the countless
sleepless nights
that will never go away
