I keep trying to hold on
to these feelings of being alone
the times we've shared
I never want to let go
as painful as they are
and all the pain we put each other through
and all the broken promises you made

I keep trying to hold on
to stay by your side
to show she isn't the one
for you
and how she is
hoping you'll wake up and realize
before I'm gone

I keep trying to hold on
and take the comfort from
a stranger I hardly know
to try and help from not going insane
from the pain of losing you
and everything we had and done
no matter who I am by
I always seem to think of you
and always will
