The so-called 'happiness' that we derive from worldly things and relationships transform themselves into sorrow at one point in time or another. Be it parent-child or husband-wife relationships, all interactions later transform and hurt you. They turn into problems of the ego, pride, domination over each other, etc... Its a cycle of happiness followed by sorrow and then followed by happiness and so on.
