This period was a period when the three kingdoms of Wei, Shu, and Wu fought against each other after the decline of the Han Dynasty. Representative warlords and politicians include Cao Cao of Wei, Liu Bei of Shu, and Sun Quan of Wu. The Three Kingdoms is famous for the historical literature "Three Kingdoms" (written by Chen Ju) and the novel "Three Kingdoms" (by Luo Guanzhong), which was created afterwards.

"Three Kingdoms" is based on historical facts, but with strong narrative elements, and is very popular, especially in Japan in the form of manga, anime, and games.
