tonight a child is sleeping
too many people are weeping
when they heard her screaming
did they think she was dreaming

when she had marks and bruises
why did they just turn their noses
could they not see her tears
or did they hide behind their fears

why could they never see
or was she, not meant to be
tonight she sleeps in a cold dark grave
because no one cared enough to save
