Halloween.
A time when the fear of evil
Created witches and goblins,
In an 1800's world,
Has been transformed
Along with Christmas, Thanksgiving,
And Easter
Into an industry
Greener than St. Patrick’s day.

Money, money, money.
And tradition evolves
Into marketing houses,
Bar door prizes,
And hospital X-Rays
That try and discover
If the frustrated masses
Have fallen off the edge.

Halloween.
Maybe the evil is returning
To a twenty first century world,
Maybe it never left.
