Sandra Osborne - First Revelation

Be quiet child,
it's almost time.
For what? said she.
For prayer, now shhh!

The child knelt
in quiet dismay,
as a man stood up,
and began to pray:

'Thanks, oh God,
our only lord,
for letting us love,
and letting us live,
for teaching us to,
our brothers forgive.
We thank you lord
for every day,
for you care for us,
in every way.
Yet all you ask,
is that we love,
as you love us,
from heaven above.
Yes thank you lord,
for yourself.'

Then food and drink
were passed around,
and as the child
ate the coarse hard bread,
she offered up
her own small prayer:
'Thank you lord,
I never knew.'
