how is it that
the flowers you trod on,
while walking in to a
relationship
turn into
live coal
when you want
to retrace the steps.

walking into is easy,
walking away
is difficult.

seeking a welcome
is fun,
bidding goodbye
is painful.

the moments
you have
dedicated to her,
are like garlands
of flowers,
scintillanting your senses,
so long they stay,
they turn to poison barbs,
when you
decide to move away.

as is often in life,
so is it in relationship,

walking into is easy,
walking away
is difficult.
