Hatred fills the void
How many years gone now
Twisting inside self
A four letter world once lived
Visits and permeates a soul
Darkness lowers and extinguishes light
Despair now dwells
The smell of burned flesh fills
A cavern of thought
Igniting a cascade of dreams
Once reality
Particles of sand and sense suffocate
A soul
Twisting inside self
Hairs of existence entwine themselves
Around truth and deception
Tangled
Mangled
Footsteps forward melt in reverse
And progress becomes an echo
Of illusion
