Samaira Gupta - Humble Imploration

You may call me ungrateful,
You may think I’m impudent,
You may even cast aspersions on me
If you wish.

You may call me disdainful,
You may think I’m impertinent,
You may even hate me
If you wish.

You may avenge with scornful words,
You may hurt me with indifference,
You may even lash me and curse me
If you wish.

Yet shall I insist
With my cordial earnestness,
Yet shall I implore
With my humble affect,
That -
Education devoid of modesty
Is wisdom incomplete;
And success devoid of integrity
Is humanity impoverished.
