Sam Hoover - Proof

I once was in the shade
Deppressed to no seen end
Never finding peace of mind
Only anger pain and scorching wind.

He tried to pull me out
To bring me to the light
But even though I needed His joy
All I did was fight.

I fought and fought, and fought and fought
Till finally I saw truth
I saw the He was helping me
All He needed was my couth.

So I let Him take my hand
To pull me from this mire
It salvaged me and later on
This poem it inspired.

Now when darkness closes in
I have nowhere to run
Immediately I pray to Him
I know my battle's won.

I'm constantly told He's fake
A figment of my mind
But how does strength come from naught
And my coiled life unwind?

I could try to show you fact and proofs
Of His true diety
But now I've come to realize
The greatest proof is me.
