With you in mind.
Buying books
And postcards
In order to
Share the beauty
With you.

I will not fix scenes in my head
Remembering every detail
Of trees blossoming,
Birds flying,
People interacting.
Ready to relate it
To you.

I will not write poetry
Revealing my private thoughts
And inner feelings.
Knowing every word
Will be
Lapped up
By you.

I will not intrude on your depression
And solitude,
Searching out
Touching scriptures,
Encouraging words,
And loving thoughts
For you.

No,
No more.
I will cancel you from my life
Just as thoroughly
As you
Have cancelled me
From yours.
