Breakfast was torture
Without you.
The kettle refused to boil,
The toaster burnt the bread
The milk curdled
At the sight of me
And the cat threw up on the bed.

Breakfast is torture
Without you.
Won’t you come back if I beg?
I promise to serve you
Your heart’s desire,
Sausages, bacon and egg.
And if that is pleasing to you
And the kitchen’s scrubbed up well
Won’t you make it a daily appointment
And put me out of this hell?
