Solitary Melancholy


Though the sodium streetlights are flooding everything
I can still figure out the presence of the crescent moon
Looking at the night sky in silence,
I feel my worries are engulfing me...
Never before had I felt so hopeless.

Was it really necessary to come to the desert country In exchange of my soul?

How long has it been since I saw the pouring rain,
the river,
Swim in the river...
Here there is not a touch of greenery;
All are dry hilly sand dunes.

Our industrial city touches those hills.
Gray hills, colorless cacti, nameless dry bushes...
I shiver looking at them.

Restless cars run on the highways,
The silence is shattered by
The endless parade of those speedy cars.

This loneliness is unbearable, my love,
I am remembering you and dying to see you now.
I feel like diving into your arms like a child.

I see myself becoming pale Living within the four walls
All my colors are diluting with
The cool breeze of the air conditioner
Even the buzzing of that machine bothers me.
I have not sat under the sun or the moon
The lashing of the dry sand is all I will get then.

This is not how it was supposed to be.
I grew up in so much love!
Mom's love protected me from the Beating heat of the burning sun.

Today, I can hardly remember her face.
Oh, mother, things were supposed to be so different!
In search of a bit of happiness I have crossed hundreds of miles.
Can you see how the fake happiness is
Being washed away by the fade sodium light! !
