In this episode we head to Melbourne, VIC, Australia, to visit Amanda Hyatt. Amanda Hyatt is an alla prima watercolour artist who has been a professional for 30 years. She has won many major awards in Australia, including The Alice Bale, The Kenneth Jack and The Camberwell. Amanda paints spontaneously with immediate reaction to a subject both in the studio and en plein air. She paints quickly and intuitively, involving thinking and sensitivity. She encourages her students to see the light, the negative space, the tones and fluidity of the seemingly unpredictable medium of watercolour.
