It’s funny how when someone betrays you,
they cannot bring themselves to meet your face
dead-on. The more recent the betrayal
the more apparent this silly
revelation is;

They know they stabbed you in the back
and you’re bleeding out the front,
Yet they turn the other way,
away from you
and you stand stunned—
Paralyzed in the conception
of their fear.

Try not to dwell on the things
I’ve lost. Recovery is an ideal
albeit unrealistic thought.
Its bouts of seeming success
never solidify into anything more than
bouts of seeming success.

To be vague is to be understood;
the human condition is
complicated,
elaborate,
where words are fought to be found.
