(As fallen as adolescent leaves—
She's picking 'concede' instead of <i>believe</i>.
But it's a pro-active tac-tic
To predict your own life pack-et.)

<i>Leave longing to the weather</i>*,
Is what you remarked absently:
addressing you,
addressing me.

Notes of rhythm and harmony
were ad-libbed long ago
from a past she played
in strings & bows.

She knows it's not right
To walk this black night;
Struggled and fought
But in turn was caught—

With both hands tied behind her back
Her feet fettered in fact.

It's like those doves
You think you're setting free;
When really they're trained-in-rage
To fly right back to their cage.

Lost in the 'how'
Oblivious to <i>why</i>:
You're bound to what you've learned—
Forgoing all you've yearned

About being happy, or being sad,
You're never steady with the passing fad.

I love you
I do
If that can mean anything
Let it mean something.

I'll be water
You be wine;
I'll drink yours
You drink mine.

Unsober and unclothed
I'm in destructive-mode:

Wake up to see—
—bar none, another tease,
Close your window
Here comes the winter breeze.
