the ones who do know what they need
and completely ignore what they need.

Insomniously staring into the junkyard
of a neighborhood landfill,
with the quality of tunes pulsing in his ear,
he’s contemplating. Waiting.

For answers to illuminate;
youth falls shy in time’s wake
while you’re caught in a doubletake—
and still he waits

Above the waste like spelling out his name
with a zephyr in the clouds.
