i wonder how many men
have fallen in love with her.

they debate in the lengthening stalk
of her seasoned poise.

it must have started at a young age
because she’s wiled at twenty.

two years transpire
from the summer passing,
whatever happened to her?

she’s out somewhere
on the horizon

using her wits & her wiles
to keep a wild boy in line.
