S. Ashok Kumar - Love Smitten

It all started with a platonic relationship.
Slowly turning into a courtship.

The heart is swaying the mind.
The mind is caught in a bind.

Everything about her remained unchanged.
Yet, everything that I saw in her started to change.

Sight and hearing, already playing havoc.
The other three senses are waiting to be invoked.

My memory is full of her slideshows and popups.
The other memories are encountering hiccups.

The lingering thought of her.
Is directly proportional to the days I miss her.

The longing kept prolonging.
There is some happiness in suffering.

I am changing in geometric proportion.
Everything other than her, seems to me a distraction.

I am often in a state of trance.
The will to come out of it, is wilfully kept in abeyance.

I will be learning the hard way that bondage is like blister.
And that Freedom alone is bliss.

There is always a feeling that all these are transitory.
It reminds me of what I read long before in a library.

Don’t love anyone.
But love everyone.

Only then will all desires fall apart.
Only then will all attachments fall apart.
