A winter chill all around,
the tress are silent and tightly bound,
the animals are hidden concealed out of fear,
the lakes are all frozen not one can shed a tear,

the mountains are cloaked in a icy veil,
the wind howls and cries out her dark tale,
the sky is dark and threatening spreading throughout the day,
winter is here and winter wants to stay,

the days are short and the nights long,
winter is singing her icy song.
