Ruth Walters - Alien Romance

Silver lights glow on dark streets
where ghostly shadows loom and voices echo.
Three moons rise across the sky,
they shine on the planet below.

Huge halos glimmer and dim
as tall beings shuffle back and forth,
their pale skin and light fluorescent eyes
luminous and strangely alien.

Now there's a low grumbling
as a Geiki tribe moves underground
to find new homes, new spaces
as two suns slowly rise.

One is in the East, the other in the west
and as the planet revolves
a face peers down from high
out of a crimson spaceship

It is Romeo searching the cosmos
for his Juliet but she's gone shopping
stopping by for a cup of tea,
then off to buy some frocks.
