ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION

Twenty-five members of a Russian team joined a search and recovery operation on Indonesia's Mount Salak on Sunday (May 13), where a Russian passenger jet

carrying more than 45 people crashed earlier in the week.

Indonesian officials said the Russian team would concentrate on the plane wreckage and investigate what caused the Sukhoi Superjet-100 to crash into the slopes of the dormant volcano on Wednesday (May 9).

Another 25 Russian team members were expected to arrive later on Sunday to join the first group.

The aircraft crashed on the second of two demonstration flights from Halim Perdanakusuma airport, east of Jakarta.

Officials have said there were eight Russians including embassy officials, pilots and technicians, a French citizen and an American on board in addition to Indonesian journalists and businessmen.

All those on board are presumed to have died.

The cause of the crash is not yet known and the plane's 'black box' flight recorder has still to be found among the debris scattered around the dense jungle.
