Rukhsar Ahmed - Prostration
7 Views • Jun 16, 2014
Description
Containing in it tales of an unfinished journey,
With a tongue so religiously repetitive,
Telling of sorrows, secrets and success,
With weak eyes holding hidden tears,
That are dry under man's prying eye,
With seven limbs resting on the ground,
I pray and speak to and seek from my Maker.
With my toes balanced to face the earth's centre
I pray thankfully for prayer that was handed to us in heaven,
And with both knees helping my body off the ground
I pray to again return to this position,
And with both palms either side
I pray that these hands will reach the Fruits in Heaven,
And with my forehead placed upon the dust
I make contact with the source from which I came.
