Ruby's songs are a patchwork quilt of stories and melodies, created by her and enhanced by the playings and workings of the Rib Cage. Her take on a mix of Folk and Blues style writings, teamed with the talents and compositions of each member, make for a unique and exciting new band.

Tales of trodden weeds and helter skelters, shrapnel rust and sea sick sailors, stiff stuffed pigeons and lovers and haters, north wind bellows and storm creators.

The band formed in the summer of 2011, after Ruby posted adverts, in as many London Universities, and on as may online forums, as she could possibly think of. Then she filtered the responses, down to just over 30 musicians, whom she nervously, but excitedly auditioned, in the living room of her teeny, tiny, East London flat. After searching high and low for a guitarist, serendipity brought Aaron Brookes to the Rib Cage, and the band was finally complete:
