Then there is this nice lady, a former cute young girl
Who reminded me of my days when my hair was of a curl

She claims she lost all confidence in me
When a note she had given me was passed about a little free

There must be some mistake, her memory must be of that Poppe kid
He caused the problems at the mountain slumber party, which was hid

Things like that remind me of my old wingtips, polished shiny brown
It was my 36th birthday, before I had to put them down

It's been a few yesterdays since we left that old school
Many times I wish I could do it over again, I'd be a little less cool

There are a lot of memories of where we went to be taught
The ones I remember best are the things that should be forgot

But when we all meet again in Heaven above
There will be no more note passing, there will just be love
