Description

could any body hear my silent screams.
louder than a wailing banshee.
A hard smack on my head from dad.
you loser and a silly slip
said he.

I had buggered something again
that day.
No confidence, no gumption,
he said.
Too busy to notice my misty eyes all red.

Could my mom hear my cries as she
stirred vats of jams and curry.
Her preoccupation with the cook and the party,
took hold off her this week.

The guest came in one by one
dressed in velvet and lace.
I had adorned my mask to take my place.
Still a stranger, in a familiar place.

My sister a young pretty hussy,
was the apple of social grace.
we were of one blood,
yet you couldnt feel my pain.
You had approval and i had disdain.

13 stones and getting bigger remarked a guest,
could she see, i was 1 feet small and all bleary.
could any one really hear me? .

They said a man with long hair and nail peirced palms from the far east,
had come to set us free.
As i hobbled up the hill it was a huge gathering of people to see.
Messiah, messiah, i shouted and waved but the
song of praises that the crowds sang, drowned my
voice completly.

At last the sun had gone down and the cold winds had set in.
The earth cold against my cheek.
Claps of thunder and lightning in the distance and all hells
dust rise up,
the charriot and the rider had arrived and i could finally plead.
Take me home rider, for the demons are far too many for me..
A strong hand around my arm and yet so gentle and sweet
and i knew tonight, i was home finally safe and at peace.
