The night before between
the sheets a dream breathed on me
its fresh breath desire
to write a poem
to pierce the soul of mortal men
to cause the breadth and width of loss
to die upon the shore

The nectar of sorrows swallow
called me underneath the moon
catching tears in my cup
to drink with all the poets words
and satisfy my lust for her
my lover
twin to my soul

Today as I awake I can see her
my sweet lover, the words
