Crawling on geared up bellies, floating down muddy rice paddies,
Whistling Dixie on the delta,
Touching the green, green grass merrily sung,
When Saigon was young! Why did you come, with your guns?
Why did you seek Charley Cong, with your bombs? Was it to secure international peace?
Was it to protect the interest of an overweighted master?
Was it to overthrow an ideology embraced by an inferior race? Who made you come, with your guns?
Back home who buried them brave sons,
When Saigon was young? Did not those glad boys evacuate with them guns?
Did not Charley Cong conquered the city and won,
When Saigon was young? Pardon me, did I hear you say, Ho {Chi} hum?
