Romantic couple drop engagment ring in Bath pond

A boyfriend gave his girlfriend a proposal she'd never forget -- by DROPPING the ring into a POND. Shaking Sharif Uddin got down on one knee to propose to partner of four years Stephanie Jackson, on a small bridge over a pond in a picturesque country park. But instead of showing the ring, the 31-year-old was so nervous he presented it to her inside the closed box, and as he fumbled to open it, the diamond ring tumbled into the three-foot-deep pond. Incredibly, the loved-up couple managed to get the engagement ring back after wading in the pond and sifting through mud for almost three hours.
