When Leticia Bufoni got a personal message from Ryan Sheckler inviting her to compete at his signature street skateboarding event, she was naturally skeptical. She’d never been to Detroit, the course was unlike anything she’d ever seen and, well, no girls had ever skated in the comp before. So it took some peer pressure from Felipe Gustavo to get her to commit, and that’s how she found herself competing with the boys in Hart Plaza.
