All about Roddie Cleere according to Roddie Cleere - Ever since I can remember I loved music and spent much of my younger days buying records (remember them!!). Oddly I never learned to play an instrument. The best way to compensate for my lack of musical prowess on an instrument was to get involved with broadcasting. I first became interested in radio back in 1979. I had a day job(jesus,I had to contend with some assholes back then!!) but eventually radio became the full time occupation. My interest in Thin Lizzy ( a story for another day) led me on to checking out other Irish bands at the time and that interest has been with me ever since. That is why I still do a show on the radio dedicated to the promotion of up and coming Irish bands. There are so many out there all trying to find their way in the madness that is the Irish Music Industry. That show is on every Friday night on WLRfm (in Waterford, Ireland) from 10pm - 1am. The show is called IRISH NIGHTLIFE. WLRFM won Best Commercial Podcasting at the recent Digital Media Awards.
