More footage appears to show a rebel fighter firing at government forces in Aleppo.-- A city once the country's commercial hub where some districts are virtually hollowed out.

Rebel forces have reportedly made gains near the southern city of Deraa and control a considerable amount of territory in Aleppo in the north.

Human rights groups say at least 25 people were killed in the fighting -- in a war that has already claimed the lives of more than 160,000 people.
