Rocco Dominic - The Empty House

I wish to write something beautiful, but alas I can't today.
I sit inside this lonely house, day by day by day.

These walls are my prison, my tics are my chains.
My eyes awake, two tarnished suns, tears that fall like rain.

The outside world is calling, but do I dare to go?
Should I allow myself to fall on my face, pretending it's a show?

This pain I feel, both body and mind, encase me in a shell.
A room of frozen solitude, a place of blazing hell.

'What shall I do? ' I ask myself, as I sit and drink.
A beer so cold, wine so sweet, so drunk I can barely think.

But think I must, a curse, though a blessing some might say.
This empty house, so full of words; words to keep at bay.




.....A change is coming, slow and soft, so scare I can barely see.
But soon I will leave this house. Soon I will be free.
