Robert Taylor - And Be With Her

I wandered lonely some nights ago
upon a trail no man had trod.
And spied the stars as I did go
whose light had left those distant suns
before my life here had begun.

I thought of you so long ago
Those lights were likely there also.
Dispatched their rays so as to see
what trail I took on life's journey.

At a point..it did divide.
A moment later I did decide
to take the lower path instead
and leave the other..not to tread

That point of time which I refer
whence I opted to defer
To act on faith..a crucial choice
and not to follow that inner voice.

Oblation - such a sorry curse
To sacrifice what I esteemed
to mythic entities from mystic dreams.

When I look back in retrospect
and ponder long what could have been.
Instead of posting angry verse
I'd be with her...no harm...no hurt.

If Light and Time are intertwined
and Time is woven as to bind
Would it forbid me to return
and right that wrong that I did learn?
To take the trail that I had spurned
....and be with her.
