Robert Hess - My Mistake

There is no excuse
I’m not trying to make it right
The minute you walked in
I lied to prevent a fight

The truth had I told you
Would have only made you mad
Yet lying to you destroyed
The faith in me you had

I’d like to go back
If only I could
I’d change the things I said
And the things that I have done

I didn’t mean to hurt you
Yet it’s what I have done
For as much as I try to be different
I’m just like the other ones

The things I do
The things I say
May not be the worst
Lying to you just one time
Removed the faith you had in me
One time is all it took

How do we get this back?
The feelings that you had
Have I ruined everything?
The best I ever had?

Can you see pass my faults
The weaknesses within
Can you accept me
Less than perfect is who I am

I pray that I have not ruined
And destroyed the love we had
I will do anything and every thing
I swear to you, Christianne

I hope you can believe in me
That I can change the way I’ve been
I will not betray you, I never will again

I see again, just how close I’ve come
To losing everything I have
Losing the one I love

You are the world to me
And I will find a way
To show you just how much
And what you mean to me

Again I’m so sorry
I know I let you down
I hope that you forgive me
So we can turn this around
